Literacy, Numeracy Funds For Burleigh Schools

Local Member Michael Hart said all state primary schools in Burleigh would share in the Newman Government’s $26 million Getting the Basics Right – Literacy and Numeracy grants over the next four years.

Michael Hart said it was a major funding boost for literacy and numeracy programs that would help set Burleigh children on the right track for future learning success.

The State Member for Burleigh Michael Hart and local security company DNA Security Solutions share a common goal to make Burleigh the safest shopping precinct in Australia by rolling out a security program which uses leading edge DNA spray technology to deter criminals.

Grants Now Available to Burleigh Community Groups

Queensland community and volunteer groups who help others can now apply for a share of $1.35 million to buy essential items to help their local communities.

Michael Hart said the community and volunteer groups in Burleigh should take advantage of the Newman Government’s Caring for our Community election commitment, which will provide a total of $4 million in small grants over three years.

Hoons Beware, New Laws on Way

Police Minister Jack Dempsey and Member for Burleigh, Michael Hart are getting tough on hoons with a proposed bill passed through Cabinet recently that will see Queensland implement the toughest anti-hooning laws in Australia.

The new laws will see an offender’s car taken off the road and impounded for three months following the first serious offence...
