Community urged to nominate brilliant local businesses for national awards

 

Michael Hart MP today called on the Burleigh community to get behind their best local businesses by nominating them for the 2014 Telstra Australian Business Awards. 

 

For 22 years this prestigious national award program has celebrated the brilliance of Australia’s small and medium businesses and helped entrepreneurs grow and establish sustainable and successful businesses.

 

“Small and medium businesses are at the heart of our community,” Mr Hart said.

 

“Let’s give back to these businesses that serve us every day – day in and day out – by nominating and encouraging them to be part of the Awards.

 

 The Telstra Australian Business Awards are an opportunity for us to thank them, celebrate their success and recognise the contribution they make to local jobs and commerce.

 

The Awards will give them deserved recognition, as well as the opportunity to reflect on their strategies and goals to help them achieve a better future.”

Every entrant will also receive a Business Health Check, a free 70-page report that evaluates individual businesses performance across seven areas against international benchmarks.

 

Nominations are now open, with entry submissions open from 3 February to 31 March.

 

Local businesses that have been successful in the Telstra Australian Business Awards in recent years including Wheat Bags Australia, Technigro, Timbertone Garage Doors, OnGuard Safety Training, Natura Pacific and the Burleigh Brewing Company.

 

The 2014 Telstra Australian Business Awards includes categories for Start-Up businesses, MicroBusiness, Small Business, Medium Business and the most outstanding Regional business.

 

Winners of state and territory Awards go onto the national Telstra Australian Business Awards in Melbourne on 7 August 2014, with the overall Business of the Year from each state and territory in the running to be named the 2014 Telstra Australian Business of the Year.

 

The winners of the Telstra Australian Business Awards share $500,000 in cash and prizes and the privilege of joining an exclusive national business alumni.
