Hart to deliver for Burleigh Headland

Member for Burleigh Michael Hart MP said community safety will be improved on the Burleigh Headland walking path if he is re-elected as part of a strong LNP team.

“The Palaszczuk Labor Government has ignored the Gold Coast for three years, only claiming credit for projects started under an LNP Government,” Mr Hart said.

‘Our community deserves better and only the LNP has a plan to deliver improved community safety.

‘I’m fighting for security lighting in key areas along the Burleigh Headland walking path and if I am re-elected we will deliver this for Burleigh Heads National Park.”

If Michael Hart is re-elected as part of an LNP team, Burleigh Heads National Park will receive $40,000 to install security lighting along the walking path, improving community safety.

The Burleigh headland is a prominent Gold Coast landmark with 5 walking tracks available to the public and heavily used by all ages and abilities in the community.

Combined with the recent resurfacing and widening of the Oceanview track, security lighting installation will ensure those who use the park on dawn and dusk are afforded further safety measures.

Mr Hart said, “The Park has in the past been victim to illegal campers and deliberately lit fires, so having lights will also improve the safety of the park from destruction.

‘The lights will provide deterrence to vagrants and vandals as police and rangers will have increased visibility in the area.”

“Only the LNP will deliver safer communities for Queensland and Burleigh.”
