LNP improves safety at Palm Beach State School

Friday, 17 November 2017

LNP MP for Burleigh Michael Hart has announced that the LNP will invest $300,000 in safety upgrades at Palm Beach State School.

“The Palaszczuk Labor Government has ignored the Gold Coast and Gold Coast schools for three years, only claiming credit for projects started under an LNP Government,” Mr Hart said.

“Our students deserve better. This is why an LNP Government will deliver upgrades to the school’s fencing and install CCTV.

“Palm Beach State School’s boundaries are open to several street frontages including busy roads so the security measures provided will go a long way to protecting students, and the facilities out of hours.

“By installing CCTV we will better protect the school from vandals and ensure children are safe.”

Mr Hart said the project would not only result in a secure school but create local jobs.

“Labor has failed to deliver these crucial safety upgrades and have ignored the Burleigh community for too long,” Mr Hart said.

“I have been working with the school principal to secure funding for the Palm Beach State School projects, and will ensure this upgrade is delivered.

“Only the LNP can and will deliver support for Palm Beach families.

“A vote for anyone else will see the return of this do-nothing Labor Government – and that will only hurt local families even more.”
