Local Students Win a Trip of a Lifetime
Two lucky Gold Coast students have been given a once in a lifetime opportunity to take part in the historic Anzac Centenary commemoration at Gallipoli in 2015.
Member for Surfers Paradise John-Paul Langbroek and Member for Burleigh Michael Hart congratulated Ayla Tartic from Benowa State High School and Darcy Reynolds from Marymount College who are among 70 Queensland students awarded the 2015 Premier’s Anzac Prize.
Mr Langbroek said the Premier’s Anzac Prize was an important election commitment, which gave local students the opportunity to travel to Gallipoli and the Western Front to learn about our Anzac history and honour its ongoing legacy.
“As Minister for Education, Training and Employment, I am thrilled to be giving 70 outstanding Queensland students the opportunity to experience Anzac Centenary Commemorations and help us to ensure the Anzac spirit lives on,” he said.
“It’s great to see two Gold Coast students awarded the prize, their presentations were nothing short of inspiring and I have no doubt that this trip will provide them with memories that will last a lifetime.”
Member for Burleigh Michael Hart MP wanted to congratulate all 70 student winners of the 2015 Premier’s Anzac Prize.
“It will be a fantastic opportunity for the students, including Burleigh local Darcy Reynolds, to tour the Western front next year.”
