“Another day another pre-election energy stunt from a Labor Government desperate to stay in power, but too clueless to genuinely reform our electricity market.
“Annastacia Palaszczuk’s promise to remove restrictions on regional Queenslanders switching energy retailers is too little, too late.
“The Queensland Productivity Commission recommended this do-nothing Labor Government remove the ‘non-reversion’ policy in mid-2016 and yet here we are, over a year later and finally Annastacia Palaszczuk pretends to care about regional Queenslanders.
“Only the LNP has a real plan to bring down power prices by fast-tracking a privately-built, low-emissions coal-fired power plant in North Queensland, scrapping Labor’s 50 per cent renewable energy target, freezing power company executive bonuses until electricity prices come down and putting consumer representatives on energy boards.”
