Nominate Gold Coast top nurses
Gold Coast residents are being encouraged to nominate outstanding local nurses for the 2015 HESTA Australian Nursing Awards.
The national awards program recognises the great work of nurses, midwifes, personal care attendants, assistants in nursing and all those who contribute to nursing.
Member for Burleigh Michael Hart MP encouraged local residents to put forward the name of a valued nurse in our community.
“There are more than 280 nursing professionals that live in the Burleigh area and it would be fantastic to see this top award go to a Burleigh local,” Mr Hart said.
HESTA representative, Stephen Beckett, said the Awards are a great way to honour Gold Coast nurses who do an amazing job, often in difficult circumstances.
“Nominating outstanding local nurses for an award is just one way the Gold Coast community can thank these dedicated and hard-working health professionals”.
Award winners get to share in $30,000 worth of prize money courtesy of ME Bank.
Winners of the Nurse of the Year and Outstanding Graduate Award will each receive a $5,000 ME Bank Everyday transaction account plus $5,000 towards further education. The Team Innovation Award winner will receive a $10,000 development grant to take their program or initiative to the next level.
Nominations are now open and close on 31 July 2015. The 2015 finalists will be announced in September and interstate finalists will be flown to Brisbane for the Awards dinner on 15 October.
