MR M HART asked the Deputy Premier and Minister for State Development,
Infrastructure, Local Government and Planning (HON S MILES) –
QUESTION:
Will the Deputy Premier advise if any existing or future stages of Gold Coast Light Rail
have or will require an Environmental Impact Statement?
ANSWER:
Gold Coast Light Rail is not, at this time, a coordinated project under the State
Development and Public Works Organisation Act 1971 and as such an Environmental
Impact Statement is not required.
As Gold Coast Light Rail falls under the responsibility of the Department of Transport
and Main Roads, I refer the Member to the Honourable Mark Bailey MP, Minister for
Transport and Main Roads.
