Support Defence Personnel this Christmas

Australians are being encouraged to support Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel deployed on operations this Christmas by sending a message of thanks or donating to a charity that supports Defence personnel and their families.

Member for Burleigh Michael Hart MP called on the community to get behind our soldiers serving locally and abroad.

“Most people know of someone serving in the Australian Defence Force and showing support can be as easy as an email this Christmas,” Mr Hart said.

The most effective way to show support is to send an email message to the troops at supportthetroops@defence.gov.au which will get distributed to all personnel on operations.

“For people wishing to send a care package, Australia Post is now accepting packages from today until 7 December,” he said.

“I also encourage locals to make a lasting contribution to support Defence personnel by making a donation to our local RSL sub branch, Legacy, or other charities that assist our ADF.”
